They feature real-life stories and experiences of leaders, advocates, and allies to the marginalized population. They dig deep into insights by inclusive leaders, advocating for DEI, and topics of misuse of power and privilege.
Codeswitch by NPR is a podcast hosted by bold and fearless journalists of color. It talks about everything race that most other people refrain from, plunging into the dark and much-needed conversations related to brutality and discrimination against people of color head-on. Not just this, but it covers wide-ranging topics – from pop culture to politics and the in-betweens.
Black Like Me by Dr. Alex Gee is a thought-provoking and eye-opening podcast that explores the world through the experiences of a black man – one problem, one rant, and one issue at a time.
Secure the Seat by Minda Harts is a podcast that has topics ranging from managing diverse talent to leadership management. As the name suggests, this podcast is all about helping women of color secure a seat at the table while inspiring leaders to shift their perspectives to better manage diverse employees.
The Diversity Gap by Bethaney is a podcast that talks about the barriers and bridges that need to be crossed to get rid of the huge diversity gap in the US. It talks about the experiences black women have to go through including being overlooked, misunderstood, and feeling a deep sense of unbelonging. It talks about the big idea of “this space is not for you” when it comes to black women. A very powerful podcast and conversation in every episode indeed.
1619 by the New York Times is a podcast and audio series hosted by Nikole Hannah-Jones exploring in deep how slavery has transformed America today. It makes use of storytelling to connect the past into the present and leaning into the future.
Militantly Mixed by Sharmane is a podcast about race, identity, and what all it entails from a mixed-race perspective. It talks about people of color and everything under the sun you need to be aware of when it comes to them.
Speaking of Racism by Tina Strawn and Jen Kenny focuses on anti-racism education and action items. Both the hosts are staunch anti-racism advocates hence they present every problem in detail with solutions that need to be taken. It a must listen.
Do the Work is a podcast hosted by Brandon Kyle Goodman about the personal experiences of people of color. It brings together two people who know each other well and let them share their life experiences so we can unearth more about how to be anti-racist in real lives and have real conversations surrounding race.
