Are you a black, Latina or indigenous woman engineer looking to take a new direction in your career?

Are you homeschooling your kids while working full time?

Are you trying to find balance or a process to do both at the same damn time?

Monique Mills explains “How to Homeschool While Working From Home…At The Same Damn Time.”

When you start working from home, that also means you have flexibility. So that means you kind of create your schedule, which is a good thing. In creating a schedule, it needs to be different from what their schedule is.

When you have children in different grades, you have to be patient with them. And you’d have to allow them to have the flexibility to work on the floor to switch from playing to doing work. Life’s easier when you don’t try to put the same restrictions on them as they have in school.

Here’s a quick tip: “Write down your rules on a paper or wall.” Having the rules on the wall will allow you to point out the things you agreed to give them the flexibility to move between doing work and doing things that they want to do.

You’d be so surprised how much your kids learn from you and it’s so rewarding. Because at the end of the day, I’m responsible for my kids’ education not the teachers.

In the meantime, I don’t regret ever homeschooling my kids. It was the best thing we ever did and you have to do what’s right for your situation at the time.
