Positive hire is a tech startup, focuses on connecting experienced Black, Latina, and Indigenous women, who are scientists, engineers, and technology professionals to management roles. We do subject matter expert positions as well. But the importance is, our numbers are small, but we are mighty, and we deserve to be there. We remove more barriers so that we continue to grow and excel in our careers.

When it comes to your name, it’s best to keep it plain and simple. Most importantly, it makes it easier for potential employers to find you. This doesn’t mean you can’t add PhD PE, MBA PMP in your name, just select one or two, which will get you the attention you desire. So what I mean by is not about if people struggle to pronounce your name, that’s not what I mean. What I mean is, I sometimes see people, they have eight certifications behind your name for your next role. What which certifications, or licenses would help you get that next position. And that’s what you include in your name. If you prefer to go by a nickname, you can put that instead, if you like, some people use the first initial of their first name, because they go by their middle name, they put your middle name up there instead. Because it really helps you help people understand how to speak to you. And also you can put your pronouns she her him, his bathe them. So they also know how to speak to you. And oftentimes people aren’t sure how to approach if you find that people struggle to say your name. There’s the option now on LinkedIn, to tell people how to pronounce your name, you can do the recording on your profile. And we were very, very happy to see that you would think but your name is Michelle, I get called Melissa, Michael and Mitchell. Because apparently one L in my name means I’m all of those…….
